Hujan deras mulai turun sekitar pukul 22.00 WIB, Minggu (16/2/2014). Hujan langsung mengguyur dengan deras. Tumpukan abu Kelud yang memenuhi genting rumah dan pepohonan langsung turun bersama air hujan.
Warna air hujan yang turun berwarna coklat pekat seperti kopi mix instan. Air hujan bercampur lumpur pekat itu terasa kental. Hingga saat ini hujan masih berlangsung.
"Genting dan pohon bisa bersih kalau hujannya lama. Ini yang kita tunggu-tunggu setelah kena abu Gunung Kelud," ungkap Bambang Suhendro warga Umbulharjo.
